Michael F. Vecchione

Michael F. Vecchione is the Managing Partner at Vecchione, Vecchione & Cano, LLP. Michael’s practice focuses on the effective and successful client defense, litigation and settlement strategies and results of Workers’ Compensation cases. For more than 36 years, Mr. Vecchione continues to successfully argue on behalf of the Firm’s clients in front of multiple venues such as the Workers’ Compensation Board, the Appellate Division and the Court of Appeals.

Mr. Vecchione, in a landmark decision, successfully argued and adjudicated the Zamora case in front of the Court of Appeals. This landmark decision saved the employers, carriers, and third-party administrators, in New York, immense sums of monies.

On behalf of his clients, Mr. Vecchione’s considerable litigation experience along with his comprehensive business and economic acumen enables him to provide all-encompassing claims and settlement advice, as appropriate.

Michael regularly speaks in front of national and international organizations such as the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), NY Self-Insured Association (NYSIA), NY Claims Association, and other noteworthy organizations. He provides continuing education to his clients on the important issues along with changes in the law and decisions effecting their businesses and industries.

Mr. Vecchione attended Villanova University where he graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. He later went on to earn his Juris Doctorate Degree from St. John’s University School of Law. Michael was admitted to the Bar in 1985.

During his law school career, Michael interned with his father, Francis J. Vecchione, Founder of the Firm. He worked as an Associate at the Firm, earned Partner, and is presently the Managing Partner. Honoring his father, the Firm remained between Francis and Michael. When Francis Vecchione retired, 21 years ago, Michael grew the Firm to 24 attorneys and still growing. He accomplished this by providing excellent services and results to the Firm’s clients.

Mr. Vecchione is the second-generation Managing Partner of Vecchione, Vecchione & Cano, LLP.
